Did you see that "new" film that was discovered of San Francisco that was taken like maybe 2 weeks before the 1906 earthquake? I mean the photos of the distruction is devastating enough but to see the building, and the people on the street knowing what's coming there way was heartbreaking.

I have. It's actually a fairly well known film that has been seen for years. What makes it so interesting is the recent research that determined that it was shot just shortly before the earthquake. I think they've also done some great restoration work on the archive footage. And you're quite right - it is heartbreaking, giving us a glimpse of a city that was about to change beyond recognition.
